Our pre-school is in the historic village of Culmstock. The village is sited in a conservation area on the edge of the Blackdown Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty in Devon, and close to the Somerset border.
We are a small pre-school working from rooms within the Methodist Church. The pre-school is situated at the heart of the village, and is very close to Culmstock Primary School. The pre-school serves the village of Culmstock and the surrounding villages and rural area. These include Nicholashayne, Woodgate, Maidendown, Prescott and Sheldon. In addition, several children travel to Culmstock Pre-school from outside the designated catchment area.
We provide a friendly, secure, stimulating and fun environment for children from the age of 3 until the time they start school, and we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. We accommodate ten children per session.
Ofsted deemed us to be an 'outstanding' pre-school at our last inspection in 2010 saying:
‘The child-centred, welcoming environment is extremely well organised to enable children to make choices and become independent learners.’

The best way to find out more is to drop in and speak with our staff. Please contact us to arrange a visit.
To reserve a place for your child please download an application form (PDF). Unfortunately some sessions do have a waiting list in operation due to their popularity, so the sooner you return the application form the better!
We look forward to seeing you and your child(ren) soon!
