Welcome!

Our pre-school is in the historic village of Culmstock. The village is sited in a conservation area on the edge of the Blackdown Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty in Devon, and close to the Somerset border.

We are a small pre-school working from rooms within the Methodist Church. The pre-school is situated at the heart of the village, and is very close to Culmstock Primary School. The pre-school serves the village of Culmstock and the surrounding villages and rural area. These include Nicholashayne, Woodgate, Maidendown, Prescott and Sheldon.  In addition, several children travel to Culmstock Pre-school from outside the designated catchment area.

We provide a friendly, secure, stimulating and fun environment for children from the age of 3 until the time they start school, and we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. We accommodate ten children per session.

Ofsted deemed us to be an 'outstanding' pre-school at our last inspection in 2010 saying:

‘The child-centred, welcoming environment is extremely well organised to enable children to make choices and become independent learners.’
